My first week

The first day of school was quite boring. I met the other 68 international students and we had to write a short test. After that, we had a short walk to the library. The second day was a little bit better. We chose our subjects, some of us got their uniform (including me), while the others got to see the horses from the school.

Wednesday was more interesting and exciting. We had a trip to Rubicon Valley Farm at the Waimakariri River. At this trip I took so many photos. Could it happen, that I fell in love with this country? Probably.

Waimakariri River

First, we were on the a Jetboat ride, which was amazing. I was really scared because the boat got really close to the rock walls, but it was totally worth it. It was so much fun! Sometimes the boat did a 360° spin and we got wet or there was a sharp turn.

After the jet boat ride, we had tea, hot chocolate, fruit, some biscuits and yummy scones.

We went to the sheep and feed them. They were sooo fluffy. The farmer showed us how he works with his dogs to fetch the sheep from the pasture. He also chose some of us, who did the work of the dogs to show us that it’s way easier to work with dogs instead of humans. Those, who tried to shoo the sheep to the gate failed, but it was funny to watch.

We took some photos with one of the dogs and the alpacas and then we got a really delicious BBQ.

He also showed us how the farmers shear a sheep. After that the trip came to end. We only had a stop at a playground to took some photos in front of a donut sculpture.

Thursday, we had the first day in our classes. The rest of us got their uniform. I had photography, maths, English and music, but I didn’t do much yet. The other students wrote a test in maths and music. In maths I got some really easy tasks instead of writing the test, but in music I also wrote the test as well. I’m honest. I think the only right thing, was my name. The rest I wrote, was probably false.

Friday was really good except for biology. Biology, was terrible. The students were really disrespectful to their teacher and were just talking, eating and being those children, which everyone hates. Those, who think they were the boss and could do everything they want. I hope, that I can go to the year 12 biology.

Saturday, we were watching Kade, playing football. Kade’s team has lost lots of games, he also slipped over during the game. We also were on a rugby game, where Laurens boyfriend played. The game was much more interesting, and they won.
