I arrived!

Finally, I arrived, and I have to say that New Zealand is so beautiful, and everyone is so friendly.

I think I’ll start writing about the flight, which was also my first fly ever. I was really scared and nervous. Next to me was a couple, probably from England, which just didn’t talk to me. I felt the whole flight bad and had no one I know next to me like from the Organisation. We flew 12 hours and well, the food was bad except the bun, the landing and start was scary, and we had some turbulences where I was afraid of.

We landed in Singapore, where we had to wait 6 hours for the next flight. The Airport Is so huge there. We could go to a cinema and so much more, but we all were just too tired. The only thing we saw was the botanic garden with the butterflies. (It was way too hot in there)

The second flight was a little bit better. I also was next to people I don’t know BUT they were from New Zealand and talked to me. After more nine hours we landed in Auckland. We drove with the bus to the Auckland War Memorial Museum and took pictures. Next, we drove to our hotel and checked in. To avoid the jetlag, we walked through the streets of Auckland. After a short walk we go to the Auckland Sky Tower. The view was awesome!

We had dinner in a restaurant, but we all were too tired. Many of us (also me) fell asleep while waiting for the others, who came after us. The dinner was okay, but we all didn’t eat much.

The next day we had a really good breakfast. After that, we checked out and got a Maori Group Welcome, which was so nice to watch. They did the Haka, sang traditional songs and did more dances. We also got a Police Officer Talk to get informed about safety. After a short PowerPoint presentation some of us get into the busses (including me) and others were picked up by their schools or host families.

The third flight was short in contrast to the other flights. I wanted to watch a movie but couldn’t even watch to the middle. I was picked up from my host mother Trudi, host brother Kade and another international Student named Yuki, which stayed one night and was picked up yesterday from her host mother. They are all really lovely and nice to me. I’m pleased to be here! The rest of the day was great but when I went to sleep, I woke up at the night and can’t sleep for like 3 hours. I woke up the next day at 3 pm. So… I felt the jetlag!

Today, Kade had actually a football game, but it was cancelled. Instead of the football game we go to the supermarket and other stores like sparks, where I got my SIM card. I’ve got shown the school, which is a huge school.

For now, we watching a series and have a snack, which is like rice pudding.

I tried also some new thing like Squiggles and Vegemite.

Squiggles are veeery sweet and Vegemite is just…. Like…uhm… its not good. How can everyone eat it?
